David Bowie was a singer songwriter and actor who was a native of London, England. Often referred to as a musical chameleon Bowie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. His musical genres included: art rock, glam rock, pop, electronic and experimental. Bowie was also a successful actor, appearing in over 20 films
David Bowie was born David Robert Jones in Brixton, London in 1947. Interested in music from a young age he formed his first band at the age of 15 in 1962. He had his first hit was the song ‘Space Oddity’ in 1969. During his successful career which lasted over five decades Bowie became one of the biggest recording artists of all time. He died in New York City in 2016 at the age of 69.
