Neil Jordan is an award-winning film director, author and screenwriter who is a native of Ireland. Apart from being a successful novelist and short-story writer he is probably best known for films such as ‘Michael Collins’, Interview with the Vampire’ and ‘The Company of Wolves’. Jordan’s latest film ‘Greta’ was released in September 2018.
Neil Jordan was born Neil Patrick Jordan in Sligo in 1950. Having graduated from University College Dublin he published his first book ‘Night in Tunisia’ in 1979. In 1981 he was recruited to work on the film ‘Excalibur’. During his career he has been the recipient of numerous awards. In 1992 he won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film ‘The Crying Game’.
