Karl Marx was a native of Germany. He was a journalist, philosopher, economist and revolutionary socialist. His writings have had a major impact on the world politics. He is regarded as one of the architects of modern sociology.
Karl Marx was born in Trier in southwestern Germany in May 1818. He studied philosophy and literature at universities in Bonn and Berlin. He later became a journalist. Because of his writings he was expelled from Germany, later from France and finally from Belgium.
Marx moved to London in 1848. He was denied British citizenship but he lived in Britain for the rest of his life. He died at the age of 64 on March 14th 1883. He was buried in Highgate Cemetery, London on St Patricks Day 1883. Marx published a large volume of work during his lifetime. His most notable publications were The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital.
